It began in 1977 as a van sightseeing outfit in Waikiki and still sells the classics: Pearl Harbor, the Oahu circle-island loop, Haleakala at sunrise, the Road to Hana, the volcano from Hilo, Waimea Canyon on Kauai. The company
A 1977 van-tour company, now part of a coach group
Per the operator and Wikipedia, Polynesian Adventure Tours was founded in 1977 by Bob George and Don Brown. Its site calls it family-owned and locally operated, and press releases show that Transportation Charter Services acquired it in October 2017. The operator's footer lists TCS U.S., TCS Entertainer Coach, TCS Canada and Royal Coach as its family of companies.
The fleet runs from luxury SUVs and vans to a 24-seat mini bus and 56-seat coach. Leaders named in 2019 and 2020 releases include President Terry Fischer, COO Marc Rubenstein and VP Kelly Camps; current titles are unconfirmed. Tripadvisor says Luau Kalamaku on Kauai operates under Polynesian Adventure's management.

Road to Hana Adventure Tour
A guided day on the Road to Hana from Maui hotels, about 12 hours with a 6 am start, in air-conditioned transport. A guide narrates and drives the curves so you don't. Children 3 to 11 must book alongside an adult; infants sit on a lap.
The company's FAQ gives a full refund on land tours up to 48 hours before pickup, with 72 hours for the sunrise tour; weather refunds are not guaranteed.

Reviewers name guides for knowledge and friendliness, call the Haleakala sunrise breathtaking, and say Big Island drivers were safe and helpful with guests who have limited mobility. One reviewer found a Big Island stop rushed.
